A voracious reader all her life, Wendy Richards discovered she had a penchant for writing nonfiction. During her eleven years as a travel advisor, she wrote travel articles and newsletters. Now a full-time freelance writer and regular contributor to Middle-Pause, Crow’s Feet, and various other publications on the Medium publishing platform, Wendy enjoys writing social commentary, especially about women’s issues, women in business and ageism. She won first place in the Dreamers Creative Writing Magazine’s 2024 Micro Nonfiction Story Contest for “The Child Thief.”

Wendy is a freelance writer, author, and former member of the Writers’ Guild of Alberta and Alexandra Writers' Centre Society. She belongs to numerous women’s organizations, volunteers for the local arts community, is an animal rights advocate, and former Virtuoso travel advisor. She lives with her husband of over 30 years in Southern Alberta, Canada.
